Christine L. Donohue

Christine L. Lewis was born into a coal-mining family in Coaldale, Pennsylvania on December 24, 1952. She attended St. Peter & Paul’s Elementary School and graduated from Marian Catholic High school. Justice Donohue received a BA from East Stroudsburg State College and a JD from Duquesne University School of Law (1980).

Justice Donohue worked as a litigator in state and federal cases. She also served as a judge on the Pennsylvania Court of Judicial Discipline and sat on the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania.

In 2007 Donohue successfully ran for an open position on the Superior Court of PA. Her sister Jacqueline and brother Steven assisted with the swearing in ceremony on January 11, 2008. She helped decide over 7,000 decisions while on the Court. In 2011 Donohue participated in the first ever Superior Court En Banc session in a high school (MMI Preparatory in Freeland).

Justice Donohue successfully ran for a vacancy on the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania in 2015.
