Timika Lane

Judge Timika Lane, elected to a ten-year term to serve on the Superior Court in November 2023, has built her distinguished career on a foundation of public service. Before her election to the Superior Court, Judge Lane was elected in 2013 to serve as a Judge on the Court of Common Pleas for Philadelphia County. On the Court of Common Pleas, Judge Lane started her judicial career assigned to the Major Trial program in the Criminal Division where she supervised human trafficking cases, presided over cases in the Felony Waiver Program, and was assigned to the Complex Litigation jury trial program in the Civil Division. Judge Lane gained valuable experience handling Investigative Grand Jury matters and applied her compassionate spirit to supervising county re-entry programs.

The daughter of a Police Detective and Marine raised in West Philadelphia, Judge Lane focused her career on improving communities and strengthening families. A proud graduate of Howard University, Judge Lane began her career as a public-school teacher. Deciding to pursue a career in law, she earned her Juris Doctor Degree from Rutgers-Camden School of Law, served as a child advocate, a public defender, the Executive Director of the PA State Senate Government Committee and Chief Counsel to Senator Anthony H. Williams.

Judge Lane continues to be recognized for her hard work and has been appointed to several positions, including to the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency by Governor Wolf and the County Adult Probation and Parole Advisory Committee by the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania. Judge Lane is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Philadelphia Alumnae Chapter, and the Links, Inc., Delaware Valley Chapter. Still, she is most proud of her daughter, Tori Lane, who followed in her footsteps and graduated from Howard University.
