Judge Charles Kenworthey was born in Milford, Pike County, on March 7, 1901. He attended Milford High School and earned both his B.A. and LL.B. degrees from the University of Pennsylvania. Judge Kenworthey was admitted to the bar in 1929.
He joined and ultimately became a partner at the Philadelphia firm of Evans, Bayard, & Frick. Judge Kenworthey then served as chief counsel of the Pennsylvania Medical Society for four years. He was appointed to the Superior Court in 1941 and served in that capacity until his resignation in 1945. Judge Kenworthey passed away in March 1958.
Judge Kenworthey held several memberships throughout his career, including: the state Supreme Court’s Procedural Rules Committee, the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Committee on the Work of the American Law Institute, the Philadelphia Volunteer Defender Society, the Juristic Society, and the University of Pennsylvania Law Alumni Association.
