Biography
Judge T.J. Kelly Jr. earned his bachelor’s degree from La Salle University in 1956, and his Bachelor of Laws from Creighton School of Law in 1961. Before his judgeship, he had a distinguished career as Assistant to the Lieutenant Governor of Pennsylvania, a trial lawyer, and Deputy Secretary of Labor and Industry. Judge Kelly also served as an Assistant Attorney General, Chief Counsel for the Department of Public Welfare, Assistant to the President of the Pennsylvania Constitutional Convention.
He served in the United States Army from 1952 to 1954, when he was honorably discharged.
In 1985, Judge Kelly was elected to the Superior Court where he remained for 25 years until he retired in 2010. He later passed away on October 31, 2022, at age 91.
