Biography
Judge Maureen E. Lally-Green attended Duquesne University where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree, as well as the University’s School of Law where she received a Juris Doctor degree.
Judge Lally-Green started her legal career by serving as an associate for a private law firm in Pittsburgh. She held many leadership positions before her time as a judge, including being a professor at Duquesne University School of Law, counsel to the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, and being a consultant for Justices on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.
She was a full professor of law at Duquesne University School of Law from 1983 to 1998. In 1998, Judge Lally-Green was appointed to the Superior Court and was elected for a 10-year term the following year. She served on the Superior Court until her retirement in 2009. During her term on the Superior Court, she continued her service to the Law School by working as an adjunct professor.
Following her retirement from the Superior Court, Judge Lally-Green served as the Dean of the Thomas R. Kline School of Law of Duquesne University from 2016 until 2019.
Judge Lally-Green was a member of the Gender Committee of the Supreme Court’s Racial and Gender Equity Committee, the Allegheny County’s Bar Association’s Board of Directors, and the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Commission on Women in the Profession.
