Biography
Judge Peter Paul Olszewski attended Lafayette College where he earned his bachelor’s degree in 1948. He also earned his Juris Doctor from St. John’s University in 1952. His accomplishments include being an instructor at King’s College, as well as being vice president of the Pennsylvania Conference of State Trial Judges from 1983 to 1984. Judge Olszewski was involved in various bar and professional memberships.
He served in the military and during World War II was engaged in active military duty serving with the United States Army in the China-Burma-India Theatre of Operations. He received numerous military decorations for his service, including Asiatic Pacific, American Theatre, Republic of China, and Good Conduct medals. His service-related activity continued with his involvement in the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the China-Burma-India Veterans.
In 1967, Judge Olszewski was elected as a judge for the Court of Common Pleas. He was then elected to the Superior Court of Pennsylvania in 1983; he retired in 2005. Judge Olszewski passed away on July 18, 2015, at age 90.
